Welcome to Tafjorden Visitor and Climbing Centre

In 2017, the old Power Plant Museum in Tafjord was rebuilt into an exciting visitor centre and climbing centre. Here you will find family-friendly activities such as indoor climbing and bouldering, and several active and passive installations related to local history, our local nationalpark Reinheimen, the Norwegian wild reindeer,  Tafjord grand accident in 1934 and the hydro-power development of Sunnmøre.

In other words – welcome to a local information HUB of Fjord Municipality.

The center is connected to adapted hiking trails, and a visit to us can be combined with mountain hikes or other activities in Tafjord and Tafjordfjella. The local guide company Ræin Adventures can be helpful with guided kayak tours on the fjord.
